Hacking Is .CIA game installation slow?

I installed a game through devmenu, it was 400mb and it took a really long time. kind of like downloading from the eShop long. Is this normal?

I find SD speed does kind of make a difference, but it's still a pretty slow process for me as well.
I am using a 32GB Class 10 Samsung microSD card.

Takes me about 40 minutes to install a 2Gb game. I guess its ment to be slow, unless you have a good SD card.

U1 and U3 64GB Samsung and PNY are painfully slow as well.
It's a limitation of the system I guess.

I do find however, there is a slightly noticeable difference in card speed. Installing on my 16GB Sandisk (Class 4,) takes a lot longer compared to my Class 10. But it's most likely hardware limitations on the 3DS's end.

All cia installers have a maximum write speed, I believe is 1MB/s

cia installs will always take long, how long depends on mostly the cia.

Yep, cias are very slow to install, and the bigger the game, the longer it'll take to install.

Remember it is both reading from and writing to the same SD card and memory access bus. I do find a faster SD card helps as I use a super fast 64GB card in my XL and it makes a noticeable difference over even the class 6 card I use in my other 3DS.
