, please explain what is wrong

. Seems to me you are trying to connect your Xbox360 the interweb right? AFAIK just connect it in the exact same way as you would your PC. Then set your settings on the 360 as on your PC (either DHCP or not). But are you trying to do it via an analoge modem?
