Hacking IOS236 Installer Help

Crap. The reason I needed to fix my Wii was because I couldn't play my WiiWare or VC games. Now that I fixed it I can play my Wiiware again but now my backups don't work,

When I put in my backups the Wii doesn't read them. From the Disc channel at least I haven't tried a Loader yet.

Based on that report you do NOT have CIOScorp or DarkCorp installed (which I would say don't, for most it isn't worht it) so you will need a loader to run backups.

Really? I like loading from the disc channel but it was CIOScorp that fucked up my Wii in the first place.

Screw that I'm sticking with a loader.

I am having the same problem. I knew the solution (put in a game) but the reason I want to install IOS236 is that the DVD Drive of my WII is DEAD! I looked in the source code of the IOS236 installer and (Im a Cpp coder) I found out that its not hard to fix. So here is my code/tool (if you also have a problem like me)

Also pressed the wrong button when you installed IOS236?
I looked in the source code and found out that there is
just a small piece of code in the memory off the WII that
prevents you from re-installing. The 'fix' is to put in a
real game and play it. But what if your DVD drive of the WII
is DEAD? This is the program that overwrites the bad code with
good code and makes sure that you can run the IOS236 installer
again.

I hope I help someone with this. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT PIRATED GAMES. I ONLY CREATED THIS BECAUSE I HAVE NO WORKING DVD DRIVE. If you buy a WII you have WII sports. Putting it in and running it is enough to fix the problem.

or u could just use IOS236 installer v5 Mod, which is exactly the same as IOS236 Installer except it will install IOS236 automatically without any user input, and it has the AP protection removed. Or u could use Simple IOS Patcher, which is also capable of installing a patched IOS236. Note that both of these alternatives are included in ModMii's guides/downloads.

I have firmware 4.3E. I have installed HBC without any problems so now i have HBC V1.0.8. It runs aplications directly. Now Im trying to install IOS236. I follow all steps on the tutorial here. I have choose tah Im not a pirate. And installer says "the IOS236 is installed!" But when i go back to HBC there is written "IOS58". And if I run d2x installer there is no IOS 236 to choose. I dont understand it. I have repeat it lot of times. I have reset my wii. Please tell me what im doing wrong?

IOS58 is the ios hbc 1.08 is running at. It has ehci usb 2.0 support.

Use the syscheck program to see if ios236 is properly installed.

The MMM (multi mod manager) program also gives you the option to select that ios for further actions when it's installed.

I have no experience with the d2x installer, so I can't help you with that one.

And yes, as mentionned before, use modmii.

I doonloaded syscheck and it freeze in half of testing IOS vulnerabilities. So what i should to do next?

it's simple, start a game you own, you have to physically insert the disk though. this idiot wasted my time.

Hi.. i solved this problem.
you need to use custom ios installer 2.3 app to get back what you deleted.
This will work and get ios 236 back
