If push comes to shove I guess I could start a petition on my
blog (
http://lightykd.blogspot.com ) I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to handle 2 Nintendo petitions at the same time but you, do what you have to right? By the way if anyone wants to know what the other petition is, let me fill you in.
I want to raise awareness to Nintendo, elementary schools and text book creators of the education opportunities of having DSi units in the class. Similar to how Henrico County, Virginia gives every middle and high school student a laptop, I believe that the DSi can be use in the same and even a more cost effective way for elementary students. Imagine a classroom in which along with the norms of pen, pencils, paper and text books, students are issued DSi units and special supplement cards that go along with their text books. Not to mention, the DSi has Wifi. That means no more having students fuss over computers or having to drag a class of students to a computer lab to give them Internet access. For the financially strained school districts this allows them to integrate technology into their classes while using a very affordable platform. Imagine the price of the Dell laptop used times a school of 700 children verses the price of a DSi unit times that same amount of children. Fact is, that extra money could be used on other school projects. This is just the start of ideas I have for a DSi/elementary school program. I will give you all more information on this and maybe a Internet Channel petition very soon. If you would like to support my DSi petition, please feel free to PM me.
