Homebrew Installing VC/Wiiware .wads

I have a fully soft modded 4.2 wii and i'm using wad manager 1.5 to try and install wiiware and virtual console wads. They appear to install ok but when i try to run them it gives the following error "This channel can't be used"

So I had a search and a bit of a read up and used freewads to make them region free it appeared to work but now instead of getting the error message I just get a black screen.

As I have just got into this soft modding I'm still learning so if anybody can point me in the right direction of a tutorial or some useful links that may help me out, it would much appreciated.

Have you got priiloader installed?

No i've got bootmii, should I look into priiloader?

Either that or startpatch http://wiibrew.org/wiki/StartPatch and use the disable region check patches. In priiloader there is a region free everything hack too. Or you can run them from Triiforce using the real nand.
