Post obscure words that you would think mean something completely different

I will start

Rimcræft

1. mathematics

From Old English "rime" meaning number and "cræft" meaning skill or art

Replaced by the Greek derived term mathematics we know today

Derived terms, rhyme, rime

As to what it sounds like it means, let's just say what two consenting adults do in their free time is none of our business :tpi:

"Pulchritudinous" is such an ugly word. It sounds like it would definitely involve oozing, probably of a particularly unpleasant substance - perhaps something lumpy.

It means "beautiful"

Eeeewwwww Beautiful Lumpy Stuff :shit::shit::shit: ! YuK

sonder

n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
