Hardware Import games not working anymore

I have a Wii here with Wiikey and it doesn't recognize imported games anymore. PAL games work as they should.

Here's what I did so far: I thought region-free was turned off in the config menu so I popped in Config Disc 1.3, but it doesn't work. A warning message comes up telling me "that a problem occured and that I should read the manual"

Tried it a few times with no success. Bad flash came to my mind, so I used the recover disc, but still no import games recognized.

Any idea what the problem can be? What else can I do?
