So I decided to finally go ahead and update the our soft-modded Wii using Waninkiok's updater to 4.0 from 3.2, and...

Now the Wii boots up fine to 4.0 but I've lost use of the HBC, the WAD manager, USB functionality in the USB loader, etc. I had used the Twilight Hack to softmod so I'm guessing that may be part of the problem., but I was under the impression that the HBC and other would work post update.

Is there an alternate softmod I should be using??

I'm hoping to fix before the kids return from their aunt's tomorrow. Its been a bad enough week for them already with the XBOX360 getting the RROD on Thursday and school starting Monday.

Any help is appreciated.

There are plenty of 4.0/4.1 guides out. Read a few and find which you find easiest, I personally offline install everything I can, but online is generally easier. They all emphasize the same Bootmii, Trucha Bug Restore, etc. so you can't really go wrong with any of the regularly updated ones.

Use bannerbomb to reinstall the HBC with the hackmii installer. Read the guide in my sig to learn about what else you will need to do.
