Finally, as my wish. The text is sharper and easier for reading.
There is already a new version :
QUOTEVersion 0.059

fix: several previous versions didn't work on some cards (white screen)

workaround for crashes on files with unicode filenames on some cards

checks wether bookmarks are set past end of file (happens with equally named files)

Thanks for fixing that ;-)

Thank you. My DS is a perfect eBook reader machine now.

Update!
added some local encodings (8859-1, 8859-2, 8859-15, cp1250, cp1251, cp1252)
Didn't test really. Tell me if you want some other encoding support.

Awesome chintoi ! Thanks. I will test some of them as soon as I can.

Boriar, here is the list of all releases ( I think 0.057 was just an internal and intermediate version it was never released)

Oh, thanks. I supposed it but like it was named in the changelog and in some post by chintoi I belive that it was retired by some fatal error.

Please add encoding for SHIFT-JIS. Do add encoding support is hard? Does it automatic detect the encoding?

I love the app, easy to use interface. I needed a replacement for the ebook reader on my psp since the screen died. From what I've read, it's been a few revisions ago, but many thanks on adding font/background color options. Makes it a lot easier on the eyes to read at night when ya have a black background and a deep blue font.

please keep the revisions coming....

First let me say that the new customable encoding feature is absolutly great... We can use now IkuReader for all foreign texts or for weird encoding/decoding or even for some "secret messages" like ROT13

I've just got - my bad - a warning message "cannot open encodings folder" message with a frozen black screen when the encodings folder is missing ( it is of course not a big issue since I first missed the new data folder but the freeze is annoying. I didn't try to remove other folders. )... It was solved quickly by copying the new data folder of course.

Another issue a little bit more annoying : I've got some epub files with bad ' characters ( it shows "traduit de l’anglais" for "traduit de l'anglais" ) ( it means translated from english). I don't know if you can remedy/filter that since the text is fine event accents except this particular character ( right quote character ... ‘ is for left quote). Here is a sample french translated version of Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes by Stevenson with this problem.

Same for – for "-" found in the text. I've got no problem with the same text in Ubuntu with FB reader.

I guess we can blame windows encoding for that. Here is a table of possible illegal caracters I just found. ( characters like œ are fine with IkuReader )

Love Ikureader So much better than the other options i have tried its so fast and works wonderful. I do have a feature request as well On Some ebook readers with epubs they usally have a chapter jump option allowing you to skip to say chapter 12 if u like without having to page thru to get there. possible to implement this into iku?

Thanks for your hard work!

You can browse faster from the bookmark view but chapter/page jump would be appreciate by me too

GH0ST Those characters are badly encoded. Such an encoding is a redundancy from the past. You can take a look at a more complete list of them here http://www.elizabethcastro.com/html/extras/entities.html. I am not going to support that in ikureader.
Instead you could open problematic epubs in Calibre (I know, it's huge) and re-save them, and it will replace those characters with their valid code points.

??Yeah, thanks for update. Keep it go.

Edit1: Bug report. File UTF-8 English text - newlines - CRs/LFs, Ikureader don't show new line (show continuous text). Test with Ikureader 0.061, UTF-8 english only text, CR/LF both Windows and Linux format.

Another feature after reading 3 or 4 books on Ikuread now i am not even sure you can do is can ya Deactivate The Power Lights? P:) those things get annoying @ 5 am p:)
