Hey guys! It’s me ifish and I'm here to do my brief review of Windows 7. This review will explain the differences from Windows Vista.

Introduction

We know Windows is owned by Microsoft. I had high hopes for Windows 7 because I hated Windows Vista. When you purchase Windows 7 it will come in a box that looks like this.

When you open it up, it looks like this (below)

The box states “Welcome to your PC, simplified”. That’s what I'm expecting.

Interface

Well, to be honest Windows 7 looks like is a lot like vista with Windows Aero. The taskbar has been revamped (for the better), and it’s not ‘clunky’ like XP’s taskbar was. Windows XP’s taskbar was still great. It just looked ugly. Now, you can pin stuff to the taskbar kind of like quick launch buttons.

Here’s the taskbar:

Microsoft Paint has also been changed quite a bit (for the better):

In Windows 7 there is a lot more ‘customization’ options.

Compatibility

Windows 7 generally works with any program that worked with Vista. It also works with many of the programs that worked on XP. Any PC that is running Vista can upgrade to Windows 7 but XP users are going to have to do a “clean install” which means formatting your hard drive and starting fresh (you can just backup up your files

) In the better ‘editions’ of Windows 7 you can run ancient programs built for XP in “XP mode”.

Support

I gave the toll free number a call to see how the service was. It’s not that great but it’s manageable. You just have to get a good rep. Sadly, I didn’t.

So in conclusion

Interface: 5/5
Compatibility: 3/5 (some programs didn’t run correctly)
Support: 2/5 (let's just say, if you need help your better off going to their website)
Overall: 3/5 (not the worst windows, but a shy off the best)

This review may need more content, but it served it's purpose!

not really, in my opinion windows 7 was just trying to fix the mistakes of Vista which I don't really find that bad and and a few more features.

I know and i think it was spot on

I used Win7 for the first time the other day. I found, within minutes of using it, that few of the "Vista Problems" were fixed and it was not much better at all. I could not tell any difference, personally. I will always stick to XP, I've never had a single problem with it.

Just wondering what compatibility problems there was, and what version of 7 it was, x86 or x64? I'm actually hard pressed to find applications that won't work on Vista/7 X64 (apart from old dos 16bit applications of course). I'd give compatibility 4/5, but that's just me.

Saying this like, the box came like that, *pic*, is not really good. Try to describe the inside, outside, pros, cons, but without making 3 paragraph, it's just a box.
You talked about the interface, it is not something big too but other useful things could have been added. Control panel... and that's pretty much it lol. (network connection, game browser but those are still controlled pannel)

BUT, the quickness of of the startup, Internet explorer, compabilityy??? Did you really have problems?

Work it a bit and the repost it

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Anyway, reviews don't have to be long winded to be successful. I usually make mine long winded because I have nothing better to do and lack pictures. You can just cut the crap and write a very straight-up review. Quality over quantity.
