I'd guess the answer would be no way. They are an independent community, and I doubt they would want to change that, no matter how much money is at hand. That is why they have Patreon.

I might be way off though.

IIRC, GBATemp has had one or two offers from other companies to join their networks, but they've generally been rejected.

I imagine GBATemp will never be sold to a company as long as there are admin's like Costello or shaunj to keep the site running. Neither are in this for greed or profit, and selling the site off is pretty much totally against the way they want to run this community. As mentioned, we're a a strong, independent community who don't need no man.

Everyone has there price, as much as they are against deals/offers im sure if it was big enough they wouldnt think twice.

Who would buy a forum about console hacking, though? Even if the user traffic would be appealing, there would need to be significant changes to the cores of the forum that would drive most of the active userbase away.

Because we're not just a console hacking forum anymore. It might not seem like it at times, but GBATemp gets a TON of traffic for what used to be an "Underground" hacking/gaming community. If we went the way of other big gaming sites akin to ours and started shoving ads everywhere and taking sponsorships left and right, you could make a TON of money. Which is, y'know, a pretty big incentive for buying any site.

But, as I said, Temp owners aren't greedy, so it likely won't happen. That's also why the Temp isn't filled to the brim with ads everywhere, we make do with just a couple ads, sponsorship from NDS-card, and some of the Patreon money and that's it.
