Hacking If I hard mod what can I do after?

Met a guy who can hard mod my PS3 which is on the latest OFW. Thinking about doing it, but I just need to know a few things before I do it.
1) Once hard modded I can downgrade it to the required Firmware for CFW right?
2) Will I be able to install PS2 games? There's a few translated ones I would like to play and want to know if its possible to install them onto my PS3 once modded.
3) Will I be able to play PSP games on the PS3? I read a thread a while back and just want to know if its still possible.

1, he should install CFW, hardmodding essentially is downgrading.
2. yup, Cobra CFW allows the loading of PS2 ISOs.
3, I believe so yes.
