Still might be similar. If it's not UEFI a bios hasn't changed too much. Boot options can be pretty standard. It seems this has been a function of the acer bios for quite some time. The option is disabled by default in the bios.
Yeah it doesn’t have a USB boot option plus my USB is a iPod 5.5

What the heck is this thread about? Installing Windows XP to install Vista? Wtf is going on here.

Either you install Linux and ditch Windows because it is shit or install Windows 11 (Windows 10 will go EOL oct'25). All other Windows systems are end of life. Using them for daily tasks which includes web activitities are borderline dangerous.

To get Windows 11 installed on any PC is just a matter of patching one file from the iso. Rufus can do this all for you including downloading a Win11 Iso and burn it onto a thumb drive. (rufus.ie)

Can't boot USB? Plop Bootmanager comes to the rescue:

Burn iso to cd and with it you can boot USB pendrives including a Win11 one.

Given that both systems are completely different architecture it's no surprise that windows XP does not boot. It's most likely not nativity supported on the acer laptop given that it seems to be 64bit only with no 32bit instruction set.
That is a load of bullshit. All x86-64 processors support 32-bit instructions. It was literally the main selling point of the architecture over Itanium, that 64-bit support was just an extension of the existing architecture and existing software was guaranteed to work out of the box.

The problem is drivers. OP installed a version of Windows on one computer and the drivers from that computer are being loaded onto a completely different one. Most likely, OP is missing the driver for the second computer's southbridge.

Old versions of Windows NT did not have intelligent handling of drivers over the internet nor did it have very good generic driver support for new systems or for transfers. This is why on some computers, if you use a generic copy of the XP installer it blue screens instantly or can't see your hard drives even if the computer shipped with XP and previously worked fine with it. OEMs include restore CDs for this reason.

There are workarounds to get the new chipset driver onto an existing install, but it might be more trouble than it is worth.

op here we got windows vista on the acer but now im getting 8.1 on a hp laptop with a ipod as a usb

OP clearly doesn't know about Linux

Or what year it is

Given the op's inability to comprehend something as simple as a Windows instillation, I'm not sure why anyone would recommend garbage Linux to them.

And yeah... I'm not sure anyone understands their desire to install garbage Vista and I'm also certain that Avast didn't "break" their prior Vista install.

I have MANY TC (Thin Clients) with various Windows OS (dos/wfw, Win98, winxp, win7). I also use them as Linux boxes. Retro gaming and other programs is the reason why. Win7 is still great since you still had control of your pc and OS. Anyone using old OS's will run into driver issues. I have a large library of drivers and few custom drivers I made. Biggest issue I had was the Intel HD was introduced. Old OS's does not like the Intel HD. I don't browse on them, but you can get old version of Firefox and update several times to the x64 era. Myself, I'm done with M$, 1 PC left with current windows. Soon, That PC will no longer have Windows on it.
