Hacking I need help changing my gender in USUM

I follow the directions on videos and did the math on HxD but I encounter a problem. I did the math and you are supposed to find your name and then go 3 up on 05 but the problem is is that the code on 05 on 4600 (3 up from my name) has letters and numbers but it should be 00 to show my character is a male. I do not know about your method but using PKHeX you can open your save file, go into the SAVE tab on the right, click Trainer Info and under Misc, you can change Skin Colour. Switch between M(ale) and F(emale) there.

If it crashes when you are loading the game or the save, it's definitely just a corrupted save and you messed it up Don't forget that it's not just the gender that needs changing, the clothes need too after all, you need to change way more than just 2-3 values to gender swap! Just start a new game, much simpler honestly, game isn't that long anyways after all and less risk of save corruption...

I am definitely not an expert at this--I have only known about PKHeX for a couple of weeks now and that was to give my five-year old sun a Dusk Lycanroc in Ultra Moon. If you've used another method to alter your save file, I am confident I know nothing about it.

Maybe ThoD gave the right approach:

Just start a new game, much simpler honestly, game isn't that long anyways after all and less risk of save corruption...

Unless you have a backup somewhere? The signature by @KleinesSinchen seem awfully apt.

I'm not sure why you would hex edit the save for that, just load your save in PKSM and you can swap the gender easily with that.
