I might update an old tool of mine - should I reply to the old thread or start a new one?

Pretty much what the title said: I might release soon™ an update to a tool I released some time ago but the thread has been inactive for months now (also, that tool was just a PoC back then, the next update will be a proper release instead, so the name of the thread should be changed too if I use the same one).

I checked the rules but I couldn't find an answer to my specific case, so I'm asking you here before doing anything: is it better to reply to that thread and bump it even if it's pretty old or should I just make a new one instead?
