I barely have any knowledge about this type of stuff and don't know what to do if youre game file gets corrupted. Would it be fine if someone told me what to do if or before that happens? Thanks! (Also my grammar isn't good so if i have spelling mistakes please excuse that)
Well if that happens, and assuming you are running CFW, all you need to do is delete the corrupted game an re-install it. If you can't delete it from your Switch, you can always delete the game folder on your SD card.

I didn't know they made an MSU cart for the Genesis.... I knew about the SNES one and the library for that is rather large but the Genesis one has very few games+1

An FPGA could probably replicate the chip's functionality without buying donor parts.+1
