the project isn't forgotten in hell, but just frozen.
Doesn't seem frozen at all... look at the number and frequency of releases. Not just maintenance and bugfixes, but also new features.

I don't know of any other installer that comes close. Too bad it's closed source, though.

Why? There are a lot of open sourced installers.
Hi @duckbill007 , and thanks for your great work on DBI, but have you ever thought about releasing your original source code, so the community can continue with your project, since you don't want to, or can't continue with it.

Probably never gonna happen. He probably had his reasons to keep it closed source, and his reasons probably didn't vanish when he abandoned the project. The only thing I hope will happen, is if a firmware update ever breaks the latest DBI version to make it unusable, he would look at it and release a quick fix, without adding any features. That would be fine. Anyway, we're approaching the Switch's end of life (within a year or so), so hopefully it won't be necessary at all, if we're lucky.

Exactly! Almost 2 months without new release.
None that have the same feature set and ease of use, installing games by just dragging and dropping a file over MTP is incredibly useful, and being able to manage SD card and saves as well, it's an all in one tool that is so much more than just a title installer. None of the others even come close since they only focus on installing titles and nothing else. Except for Tinfoil but Tinfoil is crap for a few reasons and isn't open source either so if it gets abandoned too there's nothing anybody can do about it.

3ds got a firmware update so many time after the end of life (practical one) which broke most of the entry points to CFW, so big N is willing to mess up anything :P

I guess I use an older version of DBI (616?) and it works great. I had issues with jksv not working anymore but DBI works perfectly. This together with mtp-responder is all I need. I might install the latest version, my language skills need some brushing op anyway. Keep up the good work!

@Skelletonike, Lmao me and my sister's childhood computer was a Vaio, basically it had this issue that almost every time it booted up it made a beep sound with a black screen. I was a lil' innocent kid back then so of course I didn't know jack shit about repairing PCs. Anyway we brought it to the repair dudes and the fuckers said something like "this is a super bad error, unfixable" and shit like this and the poor guy remained like this until a few months ago when I decided to take it out to backup the data. When I opened it up the HDD was gone 💀 fuckers stole the hdd lmao
