NOTE: this is from another thread, it is listed below.

Offline Downgrade/Upgrade

Prerequisites:
--Homebrew Channel Installed
--SD card
--Read the FAQ and be prepared with a general knowledge of Wii Homebrew

This package contains instructions on how to acquire the necessary files from Nintendo to do an offline update
Just run prepare.bat and follow the instructions and make sure you do not have a cioscorp folder on your sd card
This package will work on ANY Wii! Virgin or Nintendo Official Updated without cios!!

Read the stickies in the hacking forum for more info.

If you don't know where the files go I suggest a thorough read before doing anything else.

I can tell you that this is NOT a good idea for you. There's a batch file for you to run which is supposed to ask you to enter information, and then create a bunch of wads and other files in a directory structure that you can just copy to your SD card for upgrade. I see two things wrong with this method:

1) This is Windows batch file with no error detection. If for some reason, some files cannot be downloaded, you will be missing some files on your SD card --> Potential for brick
2) You have to enter a bunch of numbers; if you mess up, you may download the wrong files, or none at at all--> another potential for bricks.

I believe the author said that this method is risky. So you must already know how this works before using this. I recommend the on-line method from that thread.

If it was that easy, they would. But it isn't easy for some1 to do it with no wii softmodding experience.
So please read about it using the stikky posts, and you are up to speed in no-time.
If you don't you risk a brick (a nice white one).

Elbee.
