Hacking I have a very specific question about the R4i SDHC

Will it work for my 1.4.5u DSi (not xl)? I have been reading so many threads on this forum for hours....and I am so confused. I'm planning on buying it from nds-card.com and I know they're your sponsor so I assume they're trustworthy. Also, they say they update the card before shipping it out? What does that mean exactly? I do extensive research (some say too extensive) before I buy anything and yeah I am obsessing right now so I would appreciate if someone could answer me quickly. I know everyone says that the DSTWO is better but I am on a serious budget, I can't spend more than $20 right now. This is the one I was planning on buying:

Will that work? Do I have to update anything? I don't have a DS or DS Lite that I can use so yeah I just need something that will require the least amount of...anguish haha. Please help me!

I have that card and the menu is quite slow.
Get a card that uses the Wood Kernel. I use the following card and it works fine on fw 1.4.5u. If you get this, just drop the Wood Kernel on it and you'll be fine. You shouldn't need to update it, 'nds-card' send out revision 'D' cards already updated.

It's pretty cheap, it works with DSi 1.4.5 (and on 3DS with latest firmware) and it has Real Time Save function which is nice. Also uses wood!
