I have a Mariko Switch with SX CORE chip installed. Want to update from SXOS to Atmosphere to play the latest games. Help appreciated.

Hello. As per title I’ve had a Mariko Switch for ages running SX OS. I’m clueless about it really and paid someone to solder the chip and install everything so I just had to use Tinfoil (and later using Nut on my PC) to install/update all my games.

I’ve recently tried to play Pokémon Diamond, Disco Elysium and Football Manager but they came up with errors because I presume they need the latest OS. I’m still running 10.2

Please can someone link to a guide to, or tell me, how to go about updating the firmware and using Atmosphere so I can continue to easily download and play games, in the safest way possible way? My device has never been online so isn’t banned and I want to keep it this way, should I ever sell it.

Also my daughter would murder me if I lost her Mario Kart 8 progress so would like to keep that if possible!

I suggest backup everything you can (Nand, saves, SD card, ...), before starting in case of a mistake. Read through everything once to get an idea of what's going on and what needs to be done. Ask questions if you're not sure on certain things after reading. Then just try it, knowing that you already have backups to go back to.
