I'm giving up on emulators for NDS...
All the games I want to play do not work.
Here's why I'm feeling kind of bitter:

NesterDS:
Earthbound 0: doesn't even boot up
Metal Max: Starts but graphics are completely screwed until it just freezes

SnemulDS:
Dragon Quest VI: Graphics are all messed up, especially dialog boxes
Earthbound: Layers are a total mess, especially during fights, not playable like that
Star Ocean: Simply crashes the DS
Metal Max Returns (English patched): Doesn't even boot up

Lameboy:
Dragon Warrior III: Quite slow, especially during fights, not playable like this

This is what I use: EZFlash V (slot 1) with 3 in 1 (slot 2). Some games run using the 3 in 1, some others crash with it...

I'm not being an ass saying that these emulators suck! It's just that they don't work for the only games I wanna play so I'm a bit frustrated and sad... :'(

PS: If someone has found a way to play these games perfect (or almost), please let me know how! Thanks!
You could play Earthbound Zero from the only-Mother 1 translated patch for Mother1+2 for GBA. I played that version

There was a topic about it on Pocket Heaven. In short, you need to start a new game in any other emulator, save and transfer the save data to your device. It will then work perfectly.

Btw, Earthbound works near perfectly in SNEmulDS v06a. You just have to adjust layers right.

Star Ocean will most likely never work on an SNES emulator on DS because of the compressed graphics and all that... they had a hard enough time getting it working for PC emulator... and Lameboy/NESDS both work for me for the games I want on that system. So I can't complain much...

To TC: Why would you be using Lameboy if you have a 3-in-1? There are flawless emulators of the GB for the GBA.

Goomba is excellent for regular GB titles, true, but for GBC games it has issues with a few games. Usually the games it falters on work well in Lameboy, and vice versa, so by combining the two you can play the vast majority of the GBC library. Personally, when a game works in both, I usually use Lameboy due to the speed-up button and the screen upscaling.

I always thought Saturn emulation would straight up be impossible
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Just the atchiture is insanely complex
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
That's why it annoys me when people rant about things being impossible when it comes to software some things should just be focused on more than others
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
because they want to flex their insane developer skills ofc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
We have ps5 exploits where's an article talking about ps5 emulation?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
if i wanted to play gb games on a touch screen device i would just use my phone
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    heres ps4/5
emulation (it is far from playing actual games yet but its something) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qe71pCjC9U
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Damn Frontier is offering 5Gbps now lol
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I honestly can't recommend any of the big 3 this years I'd say buy a rog ally z1 if we're being honest
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Honestly after the PS3 and 360 I just went full PC
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Every games basically cross platform they only have about 6 titles making it worth the $600 price tag
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
