I've read through a lot of the guides and they confuse me a little. So I have a few questions that I hope someone will answer.
1. What exactly is RedNAND?
2.Can I use game discs after hacking?
3.If I can use game discs can I go online ? I know with loadline I cant. I ask because my boyfriend loves Smash bros and playing online So if I cant then I will try to buy the disc for him.
4.And um...I have an HDD but I read it has to be format and then it cant work with a computer after that so how do I add more games after that? Or if its not possible then is an SD Card better?
Im sorry for any trouble I cause.

1. RedNAND is a copy of your Wii U's internal storage, or NAND. It is stored on your SD card. You can boot from this so that you don't modify your Wii U's NAND, although using it has downsides, like not being able to boot the vWii.
2. Yes, you can even use out of region games as well.
3. Nintendo can't tell what you are doing to your Wii U, so they can't stop you either. No bans for you. Just don't be stupid like me and use obvious hacks online.
4. You can use the Wii U's NAND as well HDD. It's up to you. If you have a 32 GB Wii U, then you will have more of a buffer. I don't know any way to load Wii U games off the SD card (other than Loadiine)

Btw look up the DNS servers for stopping updates as I've heard a update coming out soon.

Ok, well I have an 8GB Wii U so I was hoping to use my 1 TB HDD but I read that I have to format it and I couldnt use it anymore so what I ask is how do I add games after connecting it to Wii U.

Click here for installing games and here for the games in their proper format. It will require typing in a website that I cannot post here (because it's linked to piracy) so you will need to find that yourself.
Note: Loadiine games cannot be installed.

Well I have another question...are the websites to block the same for a Japanese console?

I think you did mean Homebrew Launcher? Homebrew Channel is a Wii channel.

You need a FAT32 formatted SD card. Place homebrew launcher in /wiiu/apps/homebrewlauncher

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
