ok thanks everyone, I think I will see if I can get someone on mirc to run me through it because this .dol installer is not working. I go to the HBC and all I is a blue screen.

did you make an apps folder on your sd card?

did you make a folder in that apps folder called custonrev 13, or whatever name you want?

did you place the .dol file in that folder?

yes and the sd card was formatted fat32 but for some reason all I get in the HBC is blue bubbles.

thanks, I got the.dol fiile working, then it asked my to choose an ISO so I selected 38. Then I selected network install, it started installing and then I got an error afer a few seconds. The error was (ret = -2011) :S

Is it because I have just cIOS38 rev13 and not cIOS38 rev13a? Do I need another version of cIOS?
all those versions will be installed as IOS 249

Yes but I don't understand which ISO version I install because there is no ISO249

It jumps from ISO55 to ISO254

When I say ISO I mean IOS. I am going to give up soon because it's getting too complicated. All I want to be able to do is to play a few backup games, it feels like this is going on for hours.

Your problem is that you dont have any cIOS installed beforehand so you need to downgrade something first to be able to install it.

Follow the offline guide here (online guide won't work for you). Do steps 1-3, A-B, and 9-10. That will give you cIOS rev10 which is all you will need to get backup launchers to work.

I have one of the new wii's and was told that downgrading it could brick it.

Ok well then don't do that. Saying you have an LU64+ Wii would be something you say in the first place. With those you need to be very careful about what you do with it and yes don't downgrade anything. If you want to get this stuff working I believe you're going to need bootmii installed as an IOS and then use something called cboot2 to install a cIOS. Try searching for cboot2 and read up everything you possibly can on it before trying to do anything.
