I read to prepare, I must set up connection settings as original post is saying(DNS)? Also WiiU machine is firmware 5.5.1
It's not a "must" but rather a prevention so it won't update further. If you really don't want to you don't have to do it but it IS recommended.

Just woke up and it seems i may have missed something? Been reading and can't find anything?

Besides drama, memes and bad jokes: Nothing.
Actually
a little update to the IOSU exploit. i've talked to hykem about it and, even though the IOSU part is done, the ROP from webkit needs porting to the several firmwares.
So, here is the current status:
Version 3.0.1 (the version hykem is at) is currently 100% done.
Version 5.3.2 needs to be ported, but is currently being worked on by him
Version 5.5.0/5.5.1 is done, but needs some adjustments.
Any other version not being mentioned here is not ready yet.

Wo knows, someone quoted it on this thread like 10 or so pages back, that's how I found out.
But then again news like this should kinda be mentioned in the first post in its own section like "News" or something so people will stay calm in here.
Since @SonyUSA updates the first post here nearly daily anyways she could add it ;)

True, but then there wouldn't really be a need for this thread really, since all relevant info would just be mentioned on the first post.

In addition to that, you can't always expect 1 person to always be available to search the whole thread and update the first post with that potentially small bit of info.

... that's kinda the meaning of a thread anyways. Especially for "in progress stuff" to keep the crowd calm and idiots who try to be like "lol it's out" away from others.
Then, after the news are mentioned in the first post, people can discuss it in the thread of course.

Besides that there's mostly drama in here anyways, also people can't always follow the whole thread. There were 4 new pages since yesterday when I went to sleep so go figure what a mess this actually is...

I think @SonyUSA is quite well informed about everything, probably even better than most others in here or in other threads lol

And even besides that if someone decides to create a thread it's his/her job then to keep it up to date and not abandon it in a few days again ;)

My point was more of 'they may be busy with life issues for a day or two before they can update' or something like that. It'd be nice, but when it can't be updated ASAP, people will just ask in the thread anyway. : P

That of course is unavoidable, but even after 1 or 2 days it's still nice to see it :D
