Yes, this bug works on all versions (so I've been told) at or below 3.0.0. This includes 1.0.0.

Yup you can but dont wait too long because 3.0.0 has already started shipping in Japan so you can bet it will be in EU soon too. 3.0.1 will follow and that aint any golden firmware

Let's say backups happen. What happens to rips of games that require an update? Does ripping the game also allow this part of the game to be removed or blocked? Or do only online games require this?

rips that do not require 3.0.1 to run will work
online wont work on 3.0.0 FW
DLC on/past 3.0.1 that require a update will not work

I have yet to buy a switch. not that i was planning on using it online anyway. The only games i'd really buy it for are MK8deluxe, BOTW, SM Odyssey, and maybe skyrim/sonic mania
