Either upcoming games or exploit, can't have both it seems.
i have a "system update is ready" any way to clear this?
Yes there is aprently.
Many wouldn't mind to update and lose homebrew, but not as many would update knowing they would lose piracy.
If gateway used a similar exploit in fw7, cool.
Well shit. My switch is on 3.0.1 I might I buy a second one with a lower FW.
Every firmware besides 3.0.1 (1.0.0, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0, 2.3.0, 3.0.0) can make use of this.
In general: just don't update.
Warning: Spoilers inside!
I expect very few people have 1.0.0 any more, which is a shame because it has the most bugs.
Think I'll get a switch soonish.
Be it only for figuring out how the security works.
Meh only game worth updating for me is xenoblade 2.
Is this basically kernal access? And how do I use it?
I don't, I'm playing sonic mania. You should feel bad for people not playing their newly purchased system for waiting on hax.
On 1.0.0, even without any webbrowser?
Next best thing apparently,
I probably updated. Was using eShop recently. Oh well, looks like I still have to buy my games.
I'll wait until it gets to a point like all other Nintendo consoles where it's hackable on the newest firmware at the time, without this "don't update if you want a chance at hax!" stuff. People like that probably get stuck waiting at some ancient firmware and unable to play any new games past then.
I guess I'm playing the longer waiting game?
Well you can just insert a Cart with Code to hack the Switch Even on 1.0 I asume.
1.0.0 has a web browser, as I documented on Switchbrew. It's just much harder to access than other FWs.
If they release it, it is a matter of weeks/month I guess. After that we not wait long for a Backup loader^^
I wouldn't be to sure of that.
Homebrew is one thing, piracy another.
Wow, and I was contemplating updating for Sonic Mania. So glad I ended up buying it on the PS4 instead. I figured that if I bought it now on the Switch most likely I'd be playing it on my TV all the time so I might as well buy it on the PS4 and then later on if I really wanted it on the go I could still get it, maybe even at a discount. So glad I decided to do that!!
I'd rather have homebrew, we don't need a backup loader.
