Homebrew How would I go about making a 3ds homebrew application that can create file a on the root of the SD card?

I am new to coding 3ds homebrew applications and was hoping to code a simple text editor the problem is I can not figure out how to have the program save the user's text into a txt file onto the SD card and there does not seem to be any devkitPro examples on this subject any help would be much appreciated thanks.

    I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
