Gaming How to tell if a Nunchuk is the problem or the connector port on the Wii remote?

My Nunchuks keep disconnecting even though they're still plugged into the remote. They work when I hold them a certain way. I know this is common, but I also want to make sure the connector port is not dirty or anything like that. Is there any way to tell? If so, should I clean it? (I already used compressed air can)

Well, I'd say plug in different extensions into the Wiimote, and those extensions into other Wiimotes. That should tell you what's up.
