i want to softmod a Gamecube, i want to play games off a SD card if possible. I heard from a friend that i need a memory/SD card reader.
Can someone explain how or steps or items that are necessary for softmoding a GC.

so just a modchip should do it? no hassle after that? and it region free after that right? just to burn dvd-s?

in case of softmoding, you mean the action replay disc that comes with the SDcard bundle?

and how to prepare the real memory card with SD load?

Well, basically yes.

You can burn it on regular DVD's but it won't fit.
Mini DVD's will do the job in a original shell (normal DVD's require a replacement shell)

And you might have to tweak the laser POT.

As for the "softmod"
Yes thats the one.
And to prep the real Memcard, I don't remember it anymore.
you did need to insert some code and you'll have to inject a special bootsector in the SD card for the SDGecko.

Seems like moding a GC is far more complicated that moding a Wii.
Its not like the GC games are that expensive, trust me i have found some " rare" expensive GC games :D

In fact, the SD Media Launcher is an extended, relaunched ActionReplay for GameCube from Datel, as it not also includes the possibility to launch GC Homebrew from an USB/SD Gecko, but also has the ActionReplay Cheating Engine and the Freeloader (run GameCube games region free) for original discs onboard.
