I've tried ~20 times so far and it's not working...
Either the browser freezes or (mostly) the HDMI signal stops. The browser always freezes on the GamePad.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to open the browser from the Wii U Menu or from the Home menu? Or within a game?
I suggest use the original /payload532.html file I found wj44's osdriver kept freezing on me, you may get the Race Attack come up occasionally but the exploit is more stable and boots more frequently.

I built it from the repo and it's now working :D
Oh well, I'm so "lucky" that I got:
Code:
Failed to find DRVA or DRVHAX
and the second time I got:
Code:
Race attack failed :(
but I'll keep trying. Thanks ^_^

P.S.: I'm using a bookmark with the direct link to the payload, is that OK?

EDIT: 3rd attempt, it worked!!!! :O

If your getting Race Attack don't panic that's good, just keep trying. I have not bookmarked it myself on my wiiu I just keep typing it in the google url bar I find myself it works better that way :)

Code:
nastys@ULNS:~/Desktop/homebrew$ python -m SimpleHTTPServer
Serving HTTP on 0.0.0.0 port 8000 ...
And when I go there with Firefox... it actually works!!! WTF?? :wtf:
Yes, 0.0.0.0:8000...
0.0.0.0 means to listen all interfaces, eth0, wlan0, and loopback. 8000 is the port your binding to.

Any plans on something similar to letter bomb? Im talking for the vWii, so we don't need the exploit games (smash, Lego)

You mean exploiting vWii from Wii U? Not sure if that's possible without IOSU access to patch signature checks to boot modified version of cafe2wii.

I'm confused. is this actually a kernel exploit? is there a way to load it without browser? does it have any homebrew for it atm, like a channel to load stuff off of? and most importantly why aren't other sites mentioning this, even threads which are keeping users updated on hacking and homebrew are not yet up to date. Is this kernel exploit really not worth mentioning or was it just poorly advertised (a google search for "wii u kernel exploit" brings up nothing).

Ho boy, I haven't touched my Wii U in quite some time and when I come back a kernel exploit gets released. And I'm on 5.3.2! This is exciting.

My question: Can I delete a downloaded system update that hasn't been installed yet? It asks me to install an update every system boot but to get around it I can hard reset or go straight to vWii.

Standby is disabled so it shouldn't do it automatically. I hope.

Yes this is really a kernel exploit, and no there is currently no way of loading it besides the web browser. There are some homebrew, but they are only example programs (Gecko aside). Other sites have mentioned this, learn how to use Google. As There are plenty of results....

hi.
i've tried more then 15 times and nothing seems to work. best i get is a black screen with white boxes.(else the screen is just freezing)

1)im on 5.3.2e there is no different build for 5.3.2 and 5.3.2e right?
2)also, and just to make sure- and i know that this is not writen anywhere- i'm not supposed to turn on the developer tools on the browser options right? it just seems like somthing that would help.

3)last qestion for now- i tried using http://wj44.bplaced.net/ and local hosting- what should work better?
both keep failing for me - so if im to keep on trying i want to try the best option i have.

@wj44 Do you plan to also add support for 5.4.0 on your webpage once that happens? I'll probably bookmark it for now so that I don't lose the link.

Hey WJ I've been using your page I think the hyperlink is wrong for PyGecko, theres a 4 in there
also even though the exploits work i still have connection issues with gecko

Could having bookmarks affect the stability, too?
You can type it in directly or You can use bookmark.
