How to repair the Screens on a DS Lite and the Hinge

I have made some videos detailing the replacement of both of the DS screens and the hinge if it becomes cracked. I noticed that Theives_like_US has put up a very detailed tutorial about dissassembling and reassembling the DS and this is not attempt to replace the work he has done as this is a replacement/ fixing tutorial and I just find that some people follow steps easier with a video to help them along.
So without any further delay, the video's.

This is the end of my tutorial and I know that it may be considered an advertisement but if you are looking for parts, dont hesitate to shop at Super Mod Chips for any parts you may need, especially if you are Australian.

In the end I scraped the DS and my boy friend went out and bought me the Zelda edition of the DS Lite.
I wish someone would buy me a DS Lite. I need one. My DS's screen can't calibrate, it's got a big scratch in the middle that isn't even possible to physically make without maybe 20 minutes and a screwdriver..... And when the scratch happened noone knew how it got there and noone had a screwdriver so it must have been an accident, which isn't possible.

Which is why if you don't see me after January then you'll know that I don't yet have a DS Lite.
My screen like exploded, one minute it was just fine, then I opened it up to play some pokemon and the screen had a huge crack in the inner part of the screen. Nothing was near the DS at the time, so I was annoyed. And that sucks.

I wish I knew what made my screen explode, but eh, life goes on. Now I have a sleek Tri-Force DS Lite

I just wanted to replace my faulty and scratched touch screen, but now I don't see any reason not to just replace the top screen as well as it is also not in perfect condition.

Thanks a ton mate!

The top screen will be fine, it's the film over it that is scratched.

The translucent cases from DX are really great, fit together nicley just like the original.

Shipping from DX on the otherhand is the problem.

Many thanks for your videos 'supermodchips' - I have just replaced a top screen and fitted new casing on an ndsl and if your help wasn't there I might not have even attempted the task!

Tips for others...WATCH the relevant videos MANY times to get accustomed to all the parts involved, particularly the tricky bits! NEVER apply too much force on any step - if you feel the need to force something, step back and make sure you're doing it correctly.

The biggest problem I had was with the L shoulder button - I presume it was a design fault in the new casing but I got there eventually.

Thanks again 'supermodchips'!!!

Awesome videos, I know it's too late to fix now, but for replacing the DSL top screen in the beginning with the tools mentioned, you forgot to mention the need for solder / soldering iron.

Cool tutorials, thanks for posting them. Wish I had them back when my touch screen stopped responding due to cleaning it with Windex (which contains ammonia).

I took the easy way to fix it, though. Bought a new one from Wal-Mart, and switched the back panel (with serial number) between the old and new one. Returned the old one in place of the new one. FIXED.

Hopefully not a stupid question but is this for the NDS Lite? or a XL or LL or whatever they're calling them in australia.

What's a triwing screwdriver and where can I get one? (Where did you get your scalpel?)

What's wrong with the modchips website, URL doesn't work.. I wouldn't mind giving this a go with the dead DS.. What's the link to that other tutorial as well?
