To use the Mario DLC do you need to install the Mario game .cia to SD too, or will the DLC show up when playing the ROM from the usual Gateway multirom menu? I havent unlocked coin rush yet to test for myself.

Edit: "Beat World 1 to unlock Coin Rush Mode on the main menu. " :)

If you already installed the DLC .cia, then you can use them with the .3ds from the GW multirom menu.

What limitations do we have from only being able to use the 2.3.4 csu file? We can't install recent games, should they be dumped as cia? And can't we use the 2.3.4 csu to install the 6.2.0 cia and use it from there?

I don't think we can install the DevKit .cia files because they are signed with the developer key. Does Gateway have the key? There must be some reason we can run developer signed .csu images without needing the key. Maybe it would be possible to reverse engineer it like what was done with the 7.x keys?

I just did this but the .3ds game in the multirom menu isn't recognising the DLC (the .cia one does though) do you know why? I've deleted the .Cia rom from my SD card now assuming the .3ds one would recognise the DLC I've left on the SD card, I don't want to move it back over If I can get it to recognise it.

What is the game you use to test? Where did you get the DLC cia files? (from bigbluebox ???)

Any chance the rom is from a different region?

.cia might be region locked,
especially if you are referring to NSMB2

I was referring to that and good idea I'll check although I doubt It I tend to match my region just incase there's any updates. But I'll look. Thanks for the tip.

I just have three of my own concerns, after reading through every post made so far.

- How are save files handled, are they still the same save files that Gateway uses? Saves are a big deal to me, I enjoy uploading them for others to use. So I want to know if the saves will be the same.

- If I install a DLC .cia, will I be able to use the DLC with a retail cartridge via classic mode? Also is a EUR DLC locked to the EUR version of NSMB2 for example?

- Do we have to keep the .cia files on the SD card after installing them, or can we delete them and it's already been installed?

Hopefully we can get some confirmation on this. More Q&A to add to the main post.

csu is decrypted version of the cia, also the cia that people are installing has been messed with to allow installation, You dont need the cia once imported

Why would the .csu be decrypted but not .cia? And if it was decrypted, how come we couldn't easily run it with Gateway until now? It seems like Gateway added a key.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
