I developed a little homebrew app, the compiled files are .3dsx, .elf and .smdh files. If I want to start this app, I actually have to start the homebrew launcher and choose the app. However, I would like to start my app directly from the home menu, because there is a kind of random success rate that the homebrew launcher starts. Starting the homebrew launcher is very much overkill for my little app, because it just changes a text file on my sd.

I think, that I have to convert my app into a .cia file, right? http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/3DS_Homebrew_Development#3ds.2Fcia_homebrew
I read, that I need makerom for this. But for makerom I need a RSF file. So, how can I convert my files into a rsf file??

Or is there a better way to get my app to the homescreen?
