Hacking How to connect to Nintendo account without updating firmware

I've just bought a switch bundle with a Mario kart download code. My console is on firmware 4.1.0. But when I click "connect a Nintendo account" it tells me that "a system update is required". I need to connect to download mario kart. How can I connect without doing this update? I hope I'm not screwed >.<

You cannot use a download code or link a Nintendo account on an older firmware, the newest update is required for any online functionality.

As said above, you can't use any online functionality without updating, including linking an account or downloading your game. Your best bet would either be to use emunand by SX OS or wait for more proper emunand from atmosphere. You can also update without burning fuses, should be a guide or two in these forums.

Oh, I see But what if I manage to hack it and install CFW, making a NAND backup first. Then I can restore that backup if I want and go online and update to 6.0.0, and access the eshop and everything, while keeping the switch hacked. Is this correct?
