What I really meant was 1080p, 60FPS undocked, and 4K support, constant 60FPS docked. Impossible I know, but a guy can dream. Hell, if they were able to do that, I'd gladly the pay increased price.
There's no price that can make that a reality. 1080p 60 FPS gameplay on a battery would last an hour on the high end, although maybe more doable with advances in solid state batteries, we shall see. However, switch is like 1/3rd the size of a GTX 1070, which is what you need to do 4K 60 FPS, and depending on optimization still.

The Wii U didn't have one, nor did the Wii or the gamecube.
*cough* wii mini *cough* (Jkn I know that was a downgrade)

No but really I always try to wait a few months after the initial launch of a system to buy mine, it's so common for the first batches to have niggling issues that are fixed a few months down the line, so while it may not be a new more powerful revision, it should have any minor flaws fixed.......plus the only games really available right now are really just wiiu re-hashes which I'm not to eager to buy a switch for

Nintendo considers Switch a home console and so their track record suggests a good chance there will be no major revisions of a new3ds/dsi type.

What if they end up coming with a new new switch version within the next year.
They definitely won't unless the Switch has a major defect which it doesn't. There's no point in releasing the Switch if they're going to release a better version in a year. If that were they case then they would release the better version instead of the Switch.
Wait 3 or 4 years and there might be a better version but I'm doubtful, Nintendo has never released a better version of a home console before (which is what Nintendo considers the Switch to be), they've only release better versions of portable consoles.
(Nes mini and Wii mini do not count as the Wii mini was a downgrade and the Nes mini only has a select few games compared to the large library of the real Nes so that's kind of like a downgrade as well).

Would be nice but a new major revision of a gaming unit within 1 year has never happened in Nintendo history as long as I can remember - let alone Sony & Microsoft. It might also create some confusion in the marketplace within 1 year. I think their main objective is to create clear and concise communication about Switch's benefits first - and communicate the visual identity as much as they can - so that people understand it & don't get confused about different models. The different ways to play might be confusing enough as it is.

Different models will definitely come later.

Even the Xbox 360 waited two years for the first revision, and the consoles were dropping like flies. What the fuck do you even think a revision is for? They spent five years or so designing this thing, if anything is fucked up either it'll be too insignificant to bother with or Nintendo will offer a recall and repair for all sold units.

They're probably already working on it, release date 1 year from now.
Remember the 3DS had a revised model every year after release for the first 4 years.

They're basically using the public as beta testers.
In this thread we've established there are already enough flaws to do a revised model, and I believe more will be discovered.
This is both objective physical faults, and subjective usability feedback.

3DS did not have any major revision of the hardware every year for the first 4 years. You must be thinking of different colours/editions.

2DS, New 3DS and XL variations are what I would class as major revisions (or at least major releases). All the other stuff is colours & different bundles of this core hardware.

I dunno, what this is about, but whatever it is, it better play 3DS/NDS games on my tv cause i had hoped WII U would allow me to do that with my game cards, perfect opportunity wasted, considering how much use the wii u game pad could have gotten out of using it. :hateit:

I would be happy if maybe switch could have played NDS/3DS carts as well, probably bad cause of the single screen but NDS VC on wii has no problem with 2 screen playability, so something to consider.... NINTENDO! :switch:

Microsoft and Sony never released major hardware revisions/upgrades until this gen. Ps4 pro and the Scorpio for this year. Ninty giving us something in the next couple of years isn't out of the question.
