I'm really getting pissed off at this.

I didn't sleep yet. I have work in an hour at the mill, and I'm tired. I just couldn't sleep. And to be honest, part of it is because I didn't work at the mill for the last 10 days, so I stayed up late and shit, but no more past 3, which isn't a problem for me. And last night, I went to sleep at 11, so I should have slept last night.

There's only a couple reasons why I can think of why I didn't sleep last night:
    - I just wanted to play some more Borderlands 2.
    - My left arm and chest are still hurting.
    - I had one smoke yesterday at 6pm, so I'm thinking maybe that gave me the cravings?
    - I had a light snack before bed last night, but I always do so that shouldn't have changed anything.

And the worst thing is I can't have a coffee or energy drink or anything because they'll send me into a panic attack.

Anyways, how do you guys deal with not sleeping when you desperately need to sleep?

Also, I apologize if I'm a dick to anybody on the forums today. If I come off as sounding angry, you know why.

First I let everyone know I didn't have enough sleep then I can act like a dick all day :P

So why does your arm and chest hurt?

If I know I won't be able to sleep well, I used to knock myself out with sleeping pills but I stop after I finish a packet to reduce the effects of being addicted to it. I haven't touched that for over months now because I don't really need it anymore. I've got multivitamins which help me sleep naturally.

I also game out on the either my Go or 3DS in bed so it induces sleep like reading a book. I would read a book again but getting out of bed to turn off the light makes me awake again =.=

Well I actually do let people know I haven't sleep enough or well. Then I do my best to stay awake til the next sleep at the correct time.

    Not recommend.

    @ShadowSoldier

You might heard every now and then.. Quit smoking.. Why:

Smoking affects the function of the immune system and may increase the risk for respiratory and other infections.
The body produces antioxidants to help repair damaged cells. Smokers have lower levels of antioxidants in their blood than do nonsmokers.
Smoking is associated with higher levels of chronic inflammation, another damaging process that may result in oxidative stress.
your desire for additional nicotine during your sleep may cause you to awaken and this may lead to insomnia. Nicotine itself is a stimulant and the use of it too close to bedtime may also make it difficult for you to fall asleep.
Studies indicate that smoking can decrease your penis size.
    Smoking does reduce sperm count.

...With a gaming comuter in their rooms went to bed significantly later on weekdays. Those spent more time playing computer games also went to bed later on weekdays and weekend days. They spent less time in bed on weekdays and reported higher levels of tiredness.

Arm and chest pain ? I definitely believe it can be from anxiety because you are releasing anxiety and stress when you do that and it isn't building up inside. Credit goes to suzi-q.

Take it easy or otherwise it can be serious later on.

    Hope it helps. :)

Arm and chest pain is due from muscles and cartilage being inflamed and pushing up against my heart/chest.

And yeah, I know about quitting smoking. Cold turkey doesn't work so I'm slowly weening off of it. It was my first smoke in 3 days or so.

    How I sleep at night?

I always fall asleep with my laptop.
Then wake up a few hours later and close it, place it aside and continue to sleep whilst the cat is laying next to me

Maybe you could try to tire yourself out.
Or watch some boring show whilst laying in bed.

I had been smoking for 6 years if I can remember. The cold turkey does work for me with suffer, of course, and nobody say it is easy. Well, if you are strong and can do it then you can. It stopped in about 2 weeks. I am not smoking anymore for over 12 years or so and I am very healthy! I am glad that I decided to chosen the cold turkey without a chemical or anything that doctor recommended. I dont trust them and fight every way with cold turkey because I was obsession about fearing of getting Cancer and many lists as above. The obsession can be a key to help you overcome with cold turkey to end the smoking, indeed. :)

    Yeah, no.

Ive tried those and all they do is speed up my heart rate, cause hallucinations, make me hear voices and sh*t that isn't there. Ends up making me stay up longer.

There's really nothing you can do. Just lay there, and try to have blank emotions so you somewhat rest your body.

    First,take a shower
    Second, stuff yourself with food.
    Third, drink some milk.
    4th, change ur bedding(NOT everyday)
5th, open ur window and ventilate ur room.

    Thats what helps me.

Ohh and if you wanna sleep well try to say to urself ''I am gonna get sleep'' or ''I am gonna sleep now'' you won't believe but it works(its not BS try it for some days).

I use sleepyti.me, go into bed around the time it tells me to, and listen to relaxing music until I fall asleep.

Listen to classical music, clear my mind by thinking of a blank board, and be completely motionless.

You might have a bigger problem if those are your reactions to it.

Showering right before you intend to sleep can do wonders.

The website @YayMii posted is really great, but that's more for helping people wake up in the morning; it doesn't really do much when you can't fall asleep to begin with.

I don't normally sleep at night usually only about 4 nights a month. Mainly I sleep during the day because of my work schedule (I work mostly night shift and every other weekend). When my head hits the pillow it's night time for me no matter the hour. I usually throw a pillow over my eyes and that's about it. The same usually holds true for my weekends off and I sleep at night. Only time I ever have trouble sleeping is when we start to get them nice days at the end of winter beginning of early spring. Those day I usually just tough it out.
