How do you handle random friend request?

Hot girl = add
Others = ignore
Umm okay, not really much of a explanation, besides is the internet... in 2016 by the way, telling the difference between "hot girl" and "the rest" is not as easy.

There is probably more than 200 women here, can you tell if they are "hot girl" with just a username to work with?:mellow:

Well if we're talking something like facebook or instagram it's easier. Typically anywhere else I just ignore people if I don't know them.

I was mostly talking about like video games, like playstation network, steam or xbox live but okay you have fair valid point with facebook and the like. :)

Doesn't happen. I am not on any services where such things are something I have to opt in for, give or take a throwaway skype account which is basically only for people I actually know anyway.

same as FAST, I'm nowhere it could happen (unfortunately?).
I don't make new friends, and nobody knows me or ask me randomly.
the only place you can find me is here, lot of people are "following" me, I don't even know what that means or what it does. is that stalking me? I never followed anyone.

if people want to talk, there's a PM or IRC. but I probably give a bad impression, they rarely come a second time. Not like I'm trying to keep anyone close either. When I try, it never works.

Guess were not talking about video games anymore. But i guess is my own fault anyway.

Moving on, still the question is how does one find me if i don't share such ways and why would they send friend request... without least a message explaining things first?

Also...
I always question them and if they smoke weed then I usually add them.
Why does smoking weed help decide if you would add someone? :blink:

Still i agree with what @Cyan said, as i also follow no one... not sure if i should or not, why i would or wouldn't. I'm not even sure why people follow me but they do, but i guess it does sometimes play a factor, if we talking about here on GBA temp it relevant to privacy settings as some features are hidden to only people you follow so i guess is consider a factor.

But i was more talking about like game console online id, like playstation network, nintendo network, xbox live or steam, i mentioned stuff like instant message so i guess people think like skype, facebook and such but is less definine on there as they actually have information about someone, on game console they don't have as much personal info to share, there no photo of the person, they don't really use their real name (As many times state that you shouldn't share personal details, depends on service and how they limit or control contact info) You just have username, some video game avatar like and one other little thing, not much to go with.

I don't use social networking, and this is one of the reasons why. I don't need to build a list of people I don't know but who are supposedly 'friends'.

@Sonic Angel Knight
My advice to you would be that it probably doesn't matter whether you accept them or ignore them. The chances of any of them becoming actual friends is so remote that it's not really worth feelings stressed about it.

Well for many users on here they do show their gamer tag or twitter handle and likewise if not for many of them it is the same as their GBATemp name or is at-least something close.

I usually accept them if I can verify who they are and if they are connected to a friend I already have. I have a small circle of friends so for me it's really easy to see if they are someone I can trust, or random douche.

Yeah that was my mind thought from the beginning when i made this thread, but i just wondered how others handled it. Mashers knows how i think so i see this as a good thing. :)

Still is just a curious thing to wonder, weather or not is worth stressing, is still personally influencal to know how others have similar experiences and how it was handled and if they worked out positive or negative. Knowledge is how one can make comfortable and confident decisions. :yay:

Yeah i noticed that... *STARES AT SIGNATURE* O_O

Still perhaps i can just ask people here "Why would you publicly display such things" Then perhaps now something new can be added and makes easier to explain somehow.

i handle them very nicely. i usually accept ASAP but for some reason all the girls that add me start asking my age sex and location... and answer theirs without i need to ask...
they start to talk like they want to have some relationship with me or something.. it's really weird i try to ignore and talk normally...
then i don't know why, i guess they just don't like to use the current chat i am using (skype for example) all of them tell me they will go into this website and give me the link to meet them which they want to take the clothes off there.. i try to politely tell them they maybe got the wrong person or something... but they seem to ignore my trying to explain..
i really don't understand theese random girls.. i am too old for this... some years ago they would do everything to not remove their clothes and come up with excuses like "my head hurts" or "i am tired".. nowdays it's the oposite, they make excuses to put clothes on the webcam

Because for me at least, I like to see what GBATemp users have to say on twitter as I also like to follow gaming news and nerd stuff. Although this twitter account is not my "real" account as I do not follow anybody I know IRL and I only use it for my RevPokemon moniker.

If it's a total stranger I'll accept and send a message saying "Hey, do I know you?"
If they don't reply within like 48hours (unless they've been offline the whole time) i'll unfriend them, but otherwhise it depends on what they say (Like if I do do actually know em they'll be kept.)
Once had someone try to advertise their Steam game when I sent that message, just blocked em.

Sorry i'm not familar with twitter, i don't have one or use it, also i dunno what "Revpokemon moniker" is either, but least you have your reasons and is clear how you make use of them. :)

It may seem like you just dealing with scammers perhaps, or something, maybe ajust privacy setting or something. I dunno, i will admit there is people like that but how to handle that, just ignore, for all we know they are just doing business, not really trying to be friends, is a possibility. :unsure:
