Firmware 9.0 is not really stable for any of the CFW that currently support it but if you're a real masochist or have a fetish for online play, there are multiple ways to update to 9.0. Not exactly sure what you mean by "safe" as no way of installing a firmware will brick your console. The most recommended way is with the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX (not to be confused with ChoiDujour which only supports up to firmware 6.1). This lets you update your firmware and retain AutoRCM thus preventing fuses from being burnt. If you're not allergic to bringing a hacked console online, you can update officially although AutoRCM will be removed if you update while not running CFW. And if you're feeling really spicy, you can update with a local game update as long as the console you are downloading the newer game update from is on firmware 9.0
so, if i update via settings, i can still acess cfw? also, auto RCM is just putting the thingy on the switch, and boom, homebrew?
cause if it is, i dont have it
I just update my switch with Nintendo's servers. I also updated my emunand on my other switch with Nintendo servers. I am using atmosphere 0.9.4 on both switches.
