Hi. I bought a 3ds with arm9loaderhax and it asks me to update the system it's 10.7 right now. How do I know it has luma3ds also how do I update those apps. Are the updates even essentially because all games are working right now. Thx.

So you mean I press select and hold it and then press the power button while holding it? And if it doesn't have Luma it will just boot into cfw as normal? So I can't update my cfw then?

I habe checked it and I have AuReiNand. What about that!
Yeah... you'll want to update to the newest version of Luma3ds, I don't know if old AuRei has firm protection. No firm protection = dead a9lh on update.

You'll want to back up your whole SD card in case anything gets messed up. After that you'll go (https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases).
Download the version 5.5(non dev) and drag and drop everything to the SD. Then, boot up your system and hold select to make sure it says Luma and version.
I don't think you'll make much use of these, so feel free to forgo them, but there are programs assigned to some buttons for back ups and what not, those will need to be updated too.

Entire SD card backup.. to change CFW? It's literally one folder to exchange, that are a few MBs at the absolute most.. Nothing can evenn get messed up that can't be fixed by placing the files properly :P

They obviously don't into custom firmware, I was just trying to make sure they had something to go back to if anything crapped out. Plus it's always smart to make a back up before messing with stuff you don't quite understand. I will agree with you though, not much to mess up.

If you have the new 3ds or new 3ds xl, you can set up micro sd data management. If you have the older 3ds, take the sd card out. Much easier than setting up FileZilla for something that's so simple.

"Setting up FileZilla"
Literally entering ftp://192.168.*.***:5000 and hitting enter is setting up since when?

Or if you have CFW you can find a version of MircoSD Management that works on o3ds, but you have to search for it on That ISO Site to find it.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
