How do i install wads on my wii? sysmenu 4.1U bootmii boot2 and Priiloader, HBC 1.1.0 IOS 61

i found my old wii and it is in 4.1U. idk if i have bootmii because i cant open it from the HBC and it doesnt load from the SD card

You can tell if a Wii has BootMii installed as boot2 if your disc drive flashes very briefly, only after the immediate flash that happens when you press the POWER Button.

That doesn't necessarily mean it's not bootmii boot2 capable, just that it's not installed

Syscheck logs unfortunately don't report/detect bootmii boot2, just IOS

You can best check by running the hackmii installer, the older the wii the better your chances

i am using modmii now. so. i download ios 58 from modmii, then i use yawmME to install it and then use the same tool to install the usb loader forwarder?

got ios 58 and usb loader forwarder installed. also. do i need the 480p patch if im using a component cable in priiloader?

The 480p patch is a fix for of a software issue on the Wii for displaying the image correctly in in this videomodus. So when using this videomode it should be activated anyway. Its nearly independend of the used output cable. USB Loader GX has also the fix implemented and can (additionaly without problems) activated there.

RetroRGB.com describes the problem in a bit more detail: It's how the SDK "talks" to the AVE-RVL chips on the Wii's I2C bus, causing some images to be displayed incorrectly. Basically it's a "translation problem" between the digital and analogue video signal - more precisely a DAC configuration problem

One of the steps modmii's syscheck wizard would have u do is install the IOS58 you retrieved already, but it will also have u install a new hbc to use it, and probably a few other wads to fix other potential issues like outdated cios.

So to answer your question, installing the IOS58 you got from modmii is safe, and should be done, but it's not all u should do. All the steps you should take will be outlined for u in a custom guide if u would just drag and drop your syscheck.csv onto modmii.exe

then grab\update whatever apps you want from download page 2, like nintendont, usbloader gx, emulators, etc.

edit2: if you don't want to install so many wads, disable the ModMii option to update active IOSs and install extra brick protection, then most WADs below IOS80 will get excluded except for IOS58 and IOS60 (in your case)

Active IOSs aren't really used if you're mainly running usb-loaders, but if you're playing games from your disc channel it's good to have all these updated. And extra brick protection is mainly useful to hopefully prevent user-error bricks in the future (but if you always use ModMii or another good guide this protection is not really necessary, but doesn't hurt, so I installed them even on my own console)
