So, if you read my previous post, you would know that I recently modded my New 2DS. I dumped Super Mario 3D Land to the system memory and I am now trying to transfer the save data. However, the game only shows up in Checkpoint when the cartridge is inserted. I dumped the game using GM9. Can someone help?

start the installed one first to initialize save data

then it'll show up and you can restore save data from the cartridge
So I basically have to create the save data first?

This did work, just a quick note, for SM3DL, you have to actually CREATE the save file and not just initiate it by starting it.

ok yeah, I forgot that on 3ds the save data only gets initialized when the game explicitly initializes it. unlike the switch where save data is initialized no matter what on first run

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
