So, I've got the save file I want to use (in .wii format), what do I do now? Can I just stick it on an SD card and load it right from there? Any feedback from experienced users is appreciated.

well all wii save files are .bin, inside a folder named the 4-digit gamecode eg.

RZDE = zelda

you take your sd card, copy the folder (with .bin file inside) to the SD card

plug into wii, then in the save file browser you will see the icon in the sd card tab. if not you either forgot the .bin or used the wrong game code

you can get my save files right here at the download center

My advice would be to...

1) Play the game where you want to DL a Save Game File
2) Save the Game after it starts up on to your Wii
3) Transfer the Save Game from your Wii to your SD Card so that you have the file structure/naming already correct for the game you want
4) Overwrite the Existing Save Game File on the SD CArd with the Save Game File that you DLed
5) Delete the Existing Save Game File from your Wii
5) Transfer the Save Game File from your SD Card to your Wii

I just add my Question here instead of making a new thread!

I want to transfer all my Saves and Miis to another WII (I think channels are not possible, or?)

So, here u explained how the savegame works:
Make a SaveGame on the "new" Wii
Copy on the SD Card,
Overwrite it with the "old" save"
And u are good to go!?!?

How about the Miis, I heard they are different/not editable, if you copy them.
And how do I copy them? With my WiiMote?

Thanks for the help

Wii save game can be transfered from an old Wii only if the game were already inserted in the new one.
The wii keep tracks to played games.

For the Mii, you can transfer to the new Wii using your Wiimote, but you will not be able to edit them.
To edit them again, you will need some software on computer (TransferMii on Linux and on Windows : "MiiTransfer" or maybe Datel's My Mii Manager), Bluetooth support and edit the Wii Mac address used to created the Mii.
(or maybe find how to Hex-edit the mii file manualy if you can transfer them to/from Wiimote)

So, after you edit the HEX the Mii's "think" they are created on the "new" Wii?

That's great, I thought it would not be possible.

Any HB Program on windows to edit the Hex? I have already used the WIIMote on Windows, so this should be a breeze

There is a CRC check, so you will have to calculate it.
(I don't know how though

here is the Mii structure :

Edit :
Which proram did you use ?
On windows I couldn't send the Miis back to the Wiimote.
I extracted with GlovePie and Bluesoleil.
"MiiTransfer" software need microsoft drivers, which I don't have in native on W2k.

Yeah, I just used GlovePie and Bluesolei, too. Somehow there should be a way to get the Mii Data with this config. I have XP so, maybe I got those drivers (or can get them). I will browse the net and see what i can find!

Thx for the link
