I was wondering if GBA games have their own thing for cheats because, I finally got GBAR2 to work again and I got NDS cheats to work. But do GBA cheats work at all?
I have never heard of GBAR2, and search brought back unrelated stuff, this thread and a single Chinese forum post with it merely being mentioned. I don't know at this point if that is a typo, emulator, flash cart running program (we are in the DS section after all) or cheat hardpatcher.
If your chosen method of running GBA games does not support GBA cheats you have two main approaches beyond hacking it in yourself.
1) A hardpatching tool. GBAATM ( https://gbatemp.net/threads/gba-auto-trainer-maker-gbaatm.99334/ ) is the main one these days, back when people also used GABsharky.
2) You hope the game you are playing has a trainer http://gba.dellicious.de/gbatrainer/ http://www.advanscene.com/
Those two sites carry pretty much all of them, and most of the ones that are not carried are probably from the series of joke trainers made way late in the GBA lifetime for all sorts of kids games and such like.

There might be newer ones around these days. You can also convert ones found on gamefaqs and such like as the encryption they once might have had has long long long since been broken (the enhacklopedia link below covering that, though you might have to go to the tools/downloads page to find the decryption programs).
