Hacking House of The Dead 2 & 3 Returns

Anyone had any luck loading House of The Dead 2 through gamma or softchip , i just get a black screen
Ive read i need to patch to 249 but heard this gives textures issues

If you install CIOSCORP there is no patching involved it just works!

really!? thats cool. though, i had this game patched before cioscorp was out.
