your going to be waiting awhile then. theres extremely unlikely to be anything released untill ist patched by a later FW, (which happened allready before) or 3DS gets offically marked as EndOfLife

well I told my friend to not update for a while some time ago but it was too late already

I installed CFW on my 3ds and honestly it's not as hard as I thought and it's fine if I install CFW on my friend's 3ds too. Is there any way to give my friend CFW without having any of us lose any data?
Edit: Would RPGhax (or whatever that thing is called) work or nintendo deletes it instantly?

not even that'll work for 3DS Homebrew launcher. if you fear getting caught in the next banwave as far as we all know even using HBL even just once may flag your console, no one knows what does and doesnt contribute to ban factors.

People who use Rosalina injection have not been reported banned.

If you install a cfw, Nintendo 100 percent cannot detect whether the unit has cfw on it. Also, with cfw, you can use the hbl, and only the hbl, without fear of being banned. Also the hbl on stock firmwares 11.4+ have proven to be extremely buggy, not allowing for things like emulators since the payloads do not work quite right.

Since he is on 11.6 the only way is either DSiWare hax, or ntrboot. DSiWare hax requires a system transfer so your friend will have to format his console, and lose his data. Ntrboot requires a flashcart, which would have to be shipped to you, so you wouldn't be able to do it in time.

CFW(it started showing this after I was trying some stuff with TWLoader but no it shows nothing on my friend's 3ds)
Edit: If I boot my flashcart with TWLoader it shows a white screen forever

You could go to Gamestop, or whatever you have in your neck of the woods, and pick up an Action Replay DS, Action Replay DS EZ or Action Replay DSi. I have seen them from $25-$30 UDS. They are not officially supported but you CAN install NTRboot to them using only a PC. They do in fact work. And you can get them today probably. Hell, if they have a used one you can bring it back within 7 days for a full refund. Then you can properly set up BOTH 3DS systems. I know you are "only interested in Homebrew" but you need to install a full blown B9S Luma set up on both systems. You will have full access to all hacks, including cool forwarders and such. You will also have brick protection and easy access to streaming, input redirection, better hombrew execution in Rosalina, etc etc. Running warez is not the only advantage.+

Either way, the flashcart doesn't need to boot up. As long as the 3ds recognizes there is a card inserted, you can use ntrboot flasher to install ntrboot.

• Finish setting up your 11.2 3ds on B9S <-- Use the guide to complete one of the DSiWare injection methods to exploit the 11.6 3DS. This requires purchasing a game on the e-shop on the B9S Source 3ds(11.2 after B9S install).

• Finish setting up your 11.2 3ds on B9S, Use it to install NTRboot to a compatible flashcard. Or go to you local NOT Gamestop and find an Action Replay. Use device to hack 11.6 System.

Choice is yours. The DSiWare that you need is cheap The AR is not. I would still get a decent NDS flashcart (R4i Gold RTS) so you can play DS games and have a way to do this if necessary in the future.. But please finish setting up your 11.2 3ds on B9S. Do yourself a favor.

Why? It's easy. The method is not complicated. Use a credit card to buy a 1,99€ game on the E-Shop. Then follow the guide. It takes less than an hour.
