I was used to using browser dump on this 3DS and didn't update the firmware. from 9.2.0-20U. I wanted to ask what would be the best way to go about using Homebrew for this 3DS, note I don't mind this console getting banned or whatever it was only used for pcdata editing for XY/ORAS. I have stickerstar and the browser if that helps also it's an older model 3DS, the standard purple one from back in the days of old.

Okay from what I gather though I need to already have homebrew on my console in order to run the A9LH right? All the guides I've read have said that, I really don't mind having a 3DS i can't use because it hasn't been used it's purpose was for nothing else. From what I looked into I would have to get a game that isn't available so would have to shelve out more money than I'd like to

Not that I am aware of. I just bought a N3DS XL off of ebay with stock 10.3 firmware on it. If you read the guide that was posted it says nothing about needing to have homebrew already on the console...

Right but to load homebrew onto my console I have to buy a new game since from my understanding a patch made it so the browser-version-check bypass doesn't work or did I read that wrong because I'm still able to use my browser version on the 9.2.0-20U though I can't seem to find a download for a browserhax to get the homebrew needed to proceed to the A9LH, tbh I only need the homebrew since I don't need to use this 3DS for anything other than exporting save file data to my computer for PKHexm, but I'm not looking to spend money on a discontinued game just to put homebrew on, or at least that's what I got from all my searches

Best bet is to search for the "plailect a9lh Guide". Put that exact search phrase into Google or whatever and you'll get what you need. It's a very thorough guide that will get you through the entire process as painlessly as possible without having to get info from 80 different people. It covers everything from the very start, and as long as you follow all of the instructions to the letter you'll be good to go.

Just follow the guide, it walks you through the whole process. From fresh out of the box, to hacked and boss as fuck.

You're good buddy. If you have any other questions it's better to ask and be sure rather than not and screw up right?

I use 7zip myself, so I'm not sure if winzip will be able to open that kond of archive

Winrar and 7zip work for .7z. Winzip should theoretically work.

That's what I used also it's telling to back up my otp.bin file but I can't find it and it seemed to work because I see files installed on my SD card that weren't there before I did the browser install. Is it supposed to glitch out for a hot second and then freeze the screen?

Actually I forgot to put in the a9lh folder and the subsequent files from the release but the system is still booting do I delete any files that I shouldn't have? Besides the extdata contents?

Edit I don't think it worked I tried to boot Luma3DS and nothing :/

Does it boot without an SD card in?

    Yes
Edit: Do you mean Luma3DS or the regular menu. Luma doesn't boot but the system still does
