Update your Wii using this guide and skip to the part titled Update to 4.2. There are a few IOS files that could stand to be updated, and you are missing IOS58 entirely; the guide I linked to will fix that.

As for your cIOS files, you should delete the IOS222 and IOS223 stubs using Multi-Mod Manager and install IOS202, IOS222, IOS223, and IOS224 using Hermes' installer. The bases should be 57, 38, 37, 57 respectively. I also recommend using ModMii to update your IOS249 to rev21 d2x v2.

Brilliant! thanks mate.

EDIT: question. should I actually run the 4.2 update? I do not have a copy of smash brothers ATM and I do not know how soon I could get my hands on one.

EDIT2: NM the guide says to skip bannerbomb if you already have the HBC. Thanks again mate!

OK I have done most of this and now i am looking at the update for ISO249, but what version should i get? 37, 38, 56 or 57? Or should I just get all of them?

It's really up to personal choice and what works for you. I recommend installing cIOSx rev21, the d2xv2 versions as they fix many lag issues and have been proven solid. I further recommend IOS56 as the base for 249 and IOS57 as the base for 250. You can install others if need be for specific games or needs, but those two should have you covered. I use 249[56] as the default for almost all games, and 250[57] for the few games that need it like CoD:BO. Do some research on what works best for your specific games if you have any trouble with what I suggest.

You need to make sure the loader is using IOS250 to run that particular game. For example, in Configurable USB Loader, you need to go into the settings and tell it to use IOS250 instead of IOS249. CFG is the only one I have any experience with.

I have done so in USB loader GX and it does not work. could this be due to the console being a Japanese console?

If you used Waninkoko's official installer for cIOSx rev21, it looks like your 250 did not install separately and is just a backup of 249 as its version number is maxed out in your SysCheck report. If you used ModMii then the version number is always maxed out for 250 and can't be used as an indicator. Either way, make sure that you did indeed install 250 with IOS57 as base, and do use ModMii, and do use the d2xv2 versions. A big hint if it is indeed the cIOS base causing the issue is if CoD:BO freezes at the loading screen after the Wii controller warnings and before the Treyarch video.

Also make sure USB Loader GX is indeed set to use IOS250 in CoD:BO's individual game settings. You'll find this by going into the settings options from the spinning disc screen for CoD:BO.

The region of the system, or the disc should not be an issue as far as getting the game to run goes. It only is an issue when trying to download the game patches for multiplayer, but there are workarounds for that if and when you get there. If your system and game are the same region, you should be just fine though in both cases, running the game and downloading the patches.

If the game does not work, and your cIOS are installed correctly, then you might want to check to see if your game image is good. You can use the verify functions of Wiimm's ISO Tools to do this.

Other than that, I can't think of any other reason the game isn't loading for you, so I hope that what I wrote does work out for you.

I used the modmii installer to install 250, but I do not mind installing again, should i first delete the thing on 250 and install it again, or just install over the current one?

EDIT: Just a note, black ops doesn't even load. I get a black screen. I get no loading screen, nothing. I am hoping this could fix it, but yeah. I have everything all setup, so just say the word and I will delete the current 250 and install the new one.

EDIT2: Interesting, I just deleted 250 and reinstalled the v2 one and it still shows as the 65xxx, not as v2 like 249 does. Something seems to be wrong here.

No, no, no, ModMii unlike the official Waninkoko cIOSx Installer always maxes out the version number for 250, so don't worry if you used ModMii and the number is 65535. Since the game is not even loading I am guessing that your issue is one of these two different causes anyways:

1) Make sure that you have a good image of the game using the verify function of Wiimm's ISO Tool. If the image is corrupted, it won't run.

2) It's not clear whether or not the game image you are using is also from the Japan region (NTSC-J). So depending on whether your console and/or game image are the same region, different region, or are region free, play around with the video mode/region game load settings specific to CoD:BO in USB Loader GX.

Try the above, hopefully one solves your issue...

Thank you for the response. I am using an NTSC-U ISO of the game on an NTSC-J console, I did try tweaking the settings of the game to get it working, but so far nothing has worked. I just ran the verify tool and this is what i got

+OK .0 DATA SC7E52

So everything is OK with the ISO. Here is what I have tried in USB Loader GX

IOS 249, 250, 224
patch country strings on
vidtv patch on
force ntsc
002 fix set to anti
block ios reload
force game language to english

and nothing works. i have tried with some of those settings on or off and still nothing, tried in CFG USB Loader as well (tweaking similar settings), still nothing. only a black screen.

EDIT: oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I followed the instructions given by the previous user so I used MMM to install the v21 files and what not.
