My AK2 has stopped working since the system update.
Sometimes it doesn' read and when it tries to load it says 'An error has occured'.
I really need help!

I'm guessing this is the AK2i with the DSi?

Well basically the DSi firmware has blocked flashcarts working on it. So all you can do is sit on your thumbs and hope that a fix can be found for it.
