Hacking Help with Jecko U

I load TCPGecko with the codehandler and start up JGecko U which connects to the game. But when I add and send the codes it doesn't do anything. I was hoping to also use some Super Mario Maker pointer codes as well, but since I'm a novice I don't know what to do. Can anyone help me?
