You may have "bricked" your vWii! These videos are for Wii not vWii. Hacking the two systems are quite different!

The first line of the "DO NOT..." section, of this stickied post says, "Following a WII softmod guide. WII and vWII ARE DIFFERENT ! ... ! FULL BRICK ASSURED"

Although the folder structure is not displayed properly, this thread should have been what you used to set up your vWii. For the proper folder structure, see this post.

After you have vWii properly working again (if even possible), then you can set up Nintendont for GameCube loading.

Good Luck!

If the vWii doesn't even boot, then it's a full brick.
You can't fix it unless a future WiiU hack could access vWii memory.
Do not expect it soon, there's nothing in the work to achieve that.

A WiiU reset will not help. It doesn't affect vWii mode.
But WiiU mode require the vWii mode to work correctly to update it. If you are on latest system version, you don't have to worry too much unless nintendo release a new update.

You'll have to assume your actions.
Tell your family instead of letting them discover it.

afaik only banner bricks can be fixed by resetting the whole console.

If you install regular Wii IOSes on your Wii U by following the wrong tutorial, as @Cyan said your vWii is pretty much done for until someone finds an IOSU exploit.

to fix a banner brick with a console reset/format it would require the channel on vWii to be deleted.
Does a reset deletes non system channels installed on vWii ? like HBC ?

IIRC (read it somewhere on Temp) it deletes all user-installed channels (including HBC and forwarders) but any modified IOSes/CIOSes stay

So let me get this straight. Sorry, I'm having trouble getting this straight. There is no way to uninstall the wads and have to secretly buy a used wii u online without anyone knowing? There is no way the iOS can be uninstalled?

No I'm afraid you have bricked your console. The Wii u will still work, but you won't be able to update it anymore since the vwii side is bricked now

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
